Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) yesterday
launched a website with sections and links
to other important airport services at
the capital's international airport.
A spokesperson of the ADDF said the site
was designed to provide up-to-date information
about all airport services including Airport
Hotel, Golf Club, Golden Class and Inflight
Catering, along with a price checking
facility for the Duty Free products.
The site also offers online booking services,
information on the latest promotions and
new arrivals at the Duty Free and product
catalogues.
The site was launched by Mohammed Mounib,
Managing Director of the ADDF, at a function
which was attended by Saoud Abdul Aziz
Al Shamsi, Sales Manager of Comtrust,
the e-business unit of Etisalat, and officials
from the ADDF.
The spokesperson said the ADDF has also
added an attractive feature on the website
by offering the sale of tickets of its
popular raffle draws such as 'Win Dh5
million', 'Win Mercedes Benz C200K', and
'Win a Range Rover'.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Mounib
said the ADDF website will help in creating
an interactive two-way communication between
the airport and the public.
"Our customers can now stay up-to-date
with all the latest events, promotions
and developments at the Abu Dhabi International
Airport by touching a button as well as
taking part in our world-renowned raffles."
The website, he said, will be regularly
updated and people will be encouraged
to visit it frequently. The site can be
accessed by logging on to (www.abudhabidutyfree.co.ae
).
It is designed and developed by the GTFS,
a Bin Zayed Group Company, and uses the
e-business, such as payment gateway and
Quickshop, facilities offered by Comtrust.
Patrick Macanaman, Manag-ing Director
of GTFS said Comtrust's Quickshop has
facilitated fast and effective development
of an e-retailing service for the Abu
Dhabi Duty Free.
"The package comprises storefront
software, web space, credit card based
online payment service, digital server
certificate and other necessary features
for merchants to set up their online venture
quickly and cost effectively," he
explained.
Macanaman said Comtrust's digital certificates
provide an added security that will help
the ADDF to secure personal and credit
card information about their customers.
